A Day in the Life of Socks

Socks are left behind everywhere in our house. It’s a quirk of my older daughter (although the younger one is joining in more often these days). She takes her socks off randomly and leaves them behind in odd places. I’ve started to document her sock habit during lockdown, because a) there wasn’t much else happening and b) one day it will end, one day I won’t find socks under the sofa anymore. One day this currently annoying sock habit will become one of these seemingly insignificant yet invaluable memories of their childhood.

Several pairs of socks and a mask are hanging on a washing line inside the laundry.
